I am a husband, a father, a geek, and a friend to many….
I have lived in North Carolina my entire life. I was born in Charlotte and moved to the then small town of Matthews with my parents at the age of four. The oldest of three, I have a sister and a brother. We have always been a close family and I appreciate their constant love and support throughout my life.
I attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and graduated with a B.A. in Studio Art. I also received Minor degrees in Classical Studies, Creative Writing, and Psychology.
It was at UNCW where I met the love of my life, Jen. The two of us became best friends and began dating after a few years. After graduation, I decided to “pop the question” on Christmas Day eve in 2004. Jen and I were married September 9, 2006 on the beach at Ocean Isle Beach, NC.
My wife and I live in Matthews with our three precious children, Robert, William, and Elisabeth. The Aycocks are big Disney fans and enjoy vacationing as a family through the Disney Vacation Club. Completing our family are our two adorable dogs, Wendy and Louie. You can guess where their names came from.
I taught Art on the middle and elementary school levels from 2005 – 2009 before leaving the teaching world to join corporate America. For two years I worked for a successful online marketing agency based out of Charlotte and was their Chief Marketing Officer. In 2011, I founded my own social media marketing company, which I ran for two years. In February 2013, I accepted the position of Website Coordinator at Cannon School.
