This time of night was once quiet. I expected it to change when Gretchen arrived. I did not expect William and Elisabeth to be the ones crying or up more than her. It seems our middle Tweedles have acquired an internal alarm that goes off, waking them to call out to Daddy and Mommy, while their baby sister is actually sleeping.
This is only a season of our lives though, and it will go by too quickly. As Jen remarked tonight, before we know it William will be in high school keeping us up for bigger reasons than getting out of his bed. Therefore, I will cherish him getting up and coming to our bedroom wearing his Superman pajamas and carrying his Pooh stuffed animal. I will also cherish Elisabeth crying and calling my name after William finally goes to sleep. And I will cherish Robert being the only child to fall asleep and sleep through the chaos every night.
This being said, children, please go to sleep right now. All of you.
I am very happy to announce that my wife gave birth to our fourth child and second daughter this morning. Gretchen Isolde Aycock arrived on June 6, 2014 at 1:44 a.m. She is 7lb 13oz and 21″ long. Welcome to the world, Gretchen!

Proud to be a Daddy again
What a blessing you are, baby girl. We are in love with our newest little princess!
My life has been rather busy lately, which is why this blog has been rather neglected. I will say, however, that I love my life right now and am very grateful for what my family has been blessed with.
As I mentioned in a previous post, our family has a lot to look forward to in 2014. The most exciting part of this year is welcoming our fourth child this June. And now my wife and I are thrilled to announce that we are having another GIRL!
We can’t wait to welcome another princess into our family! My wife’s due date is June 5, so look forward to more updates as we get closer. :-)
Our family has a lot to look forward to in 2014….
My wife and I are thrilled to announce that we are expecting our fourth child, due June 5, 2014. What an unexpected, but incredible blessing this is. We told our family over Thanksgiving, and after the initial shock everyone is very excited. :-D
Another magical addition for the upcoming new year is that I will be serving on the 2014 Disney Parks Moms Panel. After six years of applying, I am honored and overwhelmed to say that I have been invited to join the 2014 Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you all for the support and chEARs over the years! I still can’t believe it has happened. Uncle Walt was right….

I look forward to helping others plan their practically perfect Walt Disney World vacation.
